Grade 1 winner and Morning Line, a career earner of $1,122,300 who will stand at Mr. and Mrs. William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm in Versailles, Kentucky, upon his retirement from racing, had chips removed from both knees on Wednesday.

Larry Bramlage, D.V.M, performed the surgery at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital and reported that Morning Line is expected to make a full recovery and return to racing.

The four-year-old colt by 2000 Horse of the Year and top sire Tiznow won the Carter Handicap (G1) this year and the 2010 Pennsylvania Derby (G2).

Trained by Racing Hall of Fame trainer Nick Zito, Morning Line broke his maiden by eight lengths at Monmouth Park in June 2010 and then won an allowance race at Saratoga Race Course by 11 lengths in August 2010.

After his victory in the Pennsylvania Derby, Morning Line took on all challengers in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) and came up just a head short. He also finished second in the Donn Handicap (G1) in February and has four wins, four seconds, and one third from 14 lifetime starts.

Morning Line, bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge Farm, was a $700,000 yearling sold by Lane’s End, agent, to Legends Racing at the 2008 Keeneland September yearling sale. He is out of the A.P. Indy mare Indian Snow, who is out of November Snow, winner of the 1992 Alabama (G1) and Test (G1) Stakes.

He must be a very special horse when you consider all the stallion prospects Lane's End looks at.

Could be that Lane's End just wanted to stand a TIZNOW! Tiznow IS a very special horse and an accomplished son must look good on their roster.
