She's my new horsey!! Well, maybe I own the tip of one ear,,lol. I ponied (excuse the pun) up some dough for Fantasy Lane's D purchase which was made at the Fasig-Tipton Sales Monday, May 17. I always had a cynical view of public stables until I met some FLS partners and tagged along as their horses ran this winter at Tampa. I had a very good 2 week stretch in late April and early May (Derby/Preakness notwithstanding) and decided to take some of the cash and become an owner. I don't know why I haven't done this before. Anyway, Rainbow Road is out of Ballamy Road's first crop. Her dam is Miss Valid Storm out of Valid Appeal. Black type is all over her pedigree. Early reports are that she is not your typical off the wall 2 yr old. Handles the track like shes been there for years, loves to gallop and changes leads on a dime. Great disposition. I'm not big on racing 2 year olds, but since I only own a tip of one ear, I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I forgot to mention that shes stabled at Monmouth, for Lynn White, who was Alan Seewald's assistant before his untimely passing.

Thanks born. I was hoping someone with knowledge would comment on her looks. I thought of you and you didn't disappoint.

Update:

Rainbow Road had a 3F work at Monmouth about 3 weeks ago. After the workout it was decided she needs more time to grow into her body. FLS turned her out to a local farm, the same one Uptowncharlybrown went to under a similar situation last year. Nothings wrong. They just want to take their time with her. So far, I like FLS's style.

looking again at the photo she likely has a LOT of growing to do. I'm glad they turned her out, for her ankles and knees and your wallet!!!! Looking forward to updates though- keep us posted.

beautiful name-i really like the valid appeal bloodline. don't be afraid of running a two-it's proven that it is better soundness wise to run them at two. the heart lungs develops more size and the concussion builds stronger bones thru the remodeling process.

Thanks everybody for the good wishes and comments. Karen, my wallet is not a factor. LOL. I didn't invest a lot of money, and I used winnings from Tampa the day before the Derby to buy in. As far as I'm concerned, its a free ride!! I don't expect to make a profit. If I break even I'm happy. The good news is that her purchase price was far below the amount of money that was collected from the partners. Training expenses, which were already figured in for 2010, should be covered for a lot longer.

Interesting opinion Gen3. It seems like if she does make a start at 2, it will be late fall or early winter. Her first start might be down here in Tampa. That would be awesome.
