I think he intentionally floated her wide to carry out LAT. I don't think it cost RA the race though. |

Don, I don't think she was running on fear at the end, it was heart. I just don't think she has the stamina to run 1 1/4 and prevail, certainly not against the likely field in this year's Classic. I hope she runs in the Beldame and then the BC Ladies' Classic--hopefully, with a different jockey. Tha... |

WinterTriangle, No, fortunately, Mike Smith has never used the whip on Zenyatta like Borel does to RA. I don't care if it is a Procrush whip, his use of the stick on her brought back the stretch drive of the Woodward all over again. To me, it was way too much. Born, Sorry, but I have to disagree wit... |

Borel rode a cagey race, at least at the start, in which he floated LAT wide. But I really hated watching that stretch drive. RA was so spent and watching Borel hit her repeatedly just turned my stomach. The final time was a slow 2:04.49. This great filly shouldn't be beaten by a horse that has neve... |

Was he injured? I was just looking at the pps and his last race was in late April in the Derby Trial but he's been working since then, 1st at CD in May and then at Hollywood. His last 2 works were at Del Mar and both were bullets. Gary Stevens just mentioned this is Sadler's 1st starter at Saratoga.... |

"Also importantly the left front foot shows no evidence of overload laminitis, which we always worry about," Bramlage continued. "This is truly a humanitarian mission for his owners. He was good to them and they are just anxious to have him around to live out his days in his home padd... |

Geez. He did not run again after his win in the Arc. Fact. Here, AAF, maybe this can explain it better for you. From the DRF: 07/18/2007 12:00AM Rail Link out for year, may be retired By Alan Shuback ShareThisRail Link, out of action since winning last year's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, will miss the... |

I disagree a bit on that Don. Blind Luck overcame extremely slow fractions and still prevailed. Her performance was amazing. I'm not taking anything away from Evening Jewel but I still think BL is the best 3-year-old in the country. |

No, AAF, the coward quote was in your posting from Monday: "...even more so with Goldikova, her connections are so sporting, they knew the turf was going to be soft and not to her liking, but they didnt take the coward route and scratch due to rain, they ran their star because they have confide... |

Invalid statements? Rail Link did not run after his win in the '06 Arc due to injury. He eventually was operated on for bone chips which delayed his return the following year. He was unraced as a 2-year-old and was injured in the only year he would have been eligible to run in the BC. He was eventua... |

It's difficult to run in the BC if you're been retired as was Sea the Stars last year. In any case, I know you called Zenyatta's connections cowards for not running her at Churchill when the track was sloppy the morning they scratched. I'll take "cowards" any day who place the welfare and ... |

Treet, No, the poll was conducted through August 22nd so I believe it did take her Alabama win into consideration. I think she definitely deserved to be ranked higher. I read Hollendorfer is intending to run her in the Ladies' Classic. It will be interesting to see if she faces RA there, that would ... |

Thanks Beau for mentioning Haskin's article. I hadn't seen it. he mentions Evening Jewel as well. And Mark Dedomenico, one of her owners, is right about her being robbed of the Eclipse last year.
