Hailtoreason, for me to even consider a "speedball" sire, there had better be EXTREME stamina and soundness in the dam's pedigree. I honestly wasn't a fan of Indian Charlie when he ran, and his offspring is rarely on the radar for me because I want horses that can go 10-12 furlongs.....and...

I've never been a big fan of Indian Charlie foals beyond a mile. I think Fleet Indian is the only one to capture a G1 at the classic distance of 10F. So, of course, he'll be a big draw for the breeders who want precocious 2 year olds and speed over stamina. I'm not a big fan of what I term the "...

Treet, last I heard from my BFF in Southport, there was heavy rain and winds were picking up, with the worst of it expected to hit tonight and tomorrow morning. She said there was minor flooding in some streets in her neighborhood, but nothing especially dangerous (I was visualizing streets after th...

I can't believe they are running Pachattack back so soon.....but at least the Beverly D was on a yielding track.

This is hardly news as well. I'm not sure why Bloodhorse is just now running the story. I know I posted something about it over the summer.....

Yeah. If I had a nice bankroll to actually go to these sales, I'd be looking for bargains....and that would be one. Well bred, but won't bring near what it's worth. Same with the HenrytheNavigator I mentioned......like you mentioned--unproven sire, and the dam's family isn't exactly fashionably bred...

I mean, think about it. Some people only pay attention at Derby time.....it was sort of their obligation to mention to any new fans who may have tuned in (who may have heard in May that one of the Derby favorites was scratched) that Mo is making a return.....and then offer the reason for his lengthy...

My guess is that there may be new fans watching the coverage, and they wanted to cover their bases.

Thanks for the input, HTR! I have to admit that the Henrythenavigator yearling is because I was a HUGE fan of Stage Colony and his sister, BC Juvenile champion filly Pleasant Stage, and the dam is out of a full sister to them. There is a lot of stamina in that line through Stage Door Johnny to balan...

The liver disorder diagnosis was given during the spring....it was nothing new. The news of it broke, I think, while he was at Winstar.

Thanks again to everyone! The whole weekend was awesome. Arlington Million on Saturday......then on Sunday, the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre and dinner at Margaritaville.....and on the actual day, Monday, a trip to Shedd Aquarium and then a picnic, and belated flowers delivered on Tuesday. What can I...
