If they don't want to send him back to Chip, then they need to either: A) send him to a small stable where he can get some individual attention (Matz, Tagg, Shireffs) B) retire him and either send him to Old Friends or Kentucky Horse Park (KHP is down both a cool gelding since they lost John Henry A... |

I just looked up his pedigree b/c someone on Facebook had said that "another unsound 2yo bites the dust". He's by Lion Heart (from the Storm Cat sire line) known to have confirmation issues like being over at the knees. His dam, Satin Sunrise, is from the Hail To Reason sire line, which pr... |

Two posts, a minute apart from Thoroughbred Times on facebook broke the story. First said he suffered a FRACTURE. Second post said he suffered a "career ending injury" while galloping out from a workout yesterday. That's all they have at this time. |

If you watch some of the videos of the Woodward on youtube (there's one that's around 9 minutes that shows the post parade, and another amateur that shows Rachel coming back). In the post parade, she was jittery and unseated Borel. She seemed to be strange in the right hind to me then. When she came... |

LM had the benefit of a groom who absolutely DOTED on him, didn't he? I don't know about Baffert's horses, but I look at trainers like Michael Matz, who knows them so well (as does Peter Brette!)...those small stables can just offer so much more "personal" care. I see the same thing where ... |

Honestly, Treet, I didn't 100% buy that picture of Iavarone and BB. I think that guy is shadier than shady, and it just looked staged to me.... but I do agree with you...you can tell the horses who are adored. Look at those pics of Zen you and Ruffian got. She's got this light in her eyes that says ... |

Thanks guys! Remember, part of my "real" job is to teach kids how to write research papers..I always make sure I can have something to reference! :) Honestly, before I posted that this afternoon, I watched the race 4 times...twice to see if I could count how many times Borel made contact w... |

Given his past decisions, I find it hard to believe that Jess Jackson will do what is right by Rachel. When you compare the way he treats his horses to the way that Zenyatta is treated by the Mosses, or Barbaro, his brothers, etc. were/are treated by the Roy and Gretchen Jackson, or how the owners o... |

Ribot and Roberto are chefs-de-race in stamina categories. Both are chefs in "classic". Both Ribot and his son Tom Rolfe are also chefs in the "professional" category. Those are, I believe, supposed to indicate a liking for distances in excess of 12 furlongs. However, in the dosa... |

Born, if you can, watch the race again. It is hard to tell b/c Rachel is so darn tall, but check her stride in the stretch. It looks short and choppy to me when compared to Persistently's stride. |

It looked to me like Rachel's stride was shortening all the way down the stretch. She was tired. Heart got her to the wire in second. Like I've been saying, at 9F, she's a beast. Beyond that, she has to gut it out. |

Debussy won on the Turf, not the poly. My concern here isn't Rachel's speed....it's her stamina. She's done NOTHING to show she wants any part of a 10F race. And carrying that speed over 9 furlongs last year and barely holding on against Macho Again (who, while a nice horse, isn't exactly a Secretari... |
